Third time's a charm

Do you remember the door frame that was too short? The saga continues. On Saturday, Pierre Marie came by with the doors finally done. They are nice doors, though the screen door frames he made could swing a tank, I think. I tried to explain that a light screen door would have been better, but he thought stronger should please me. Oh well.

Anyway, he saw that the guys had raised the second door frame up, but he pointed out to me that the left side and the right side weren’t the same height. In fact, as we looked at it, we realized the frame was crooked, on a slant. Now why didn’t I notice that earlier? And why didn’t any of you notice from the photo I posted?

So on Monday, out came the door frame again. This third time, Jean himself did the work and it finally was right. Argh. But both doors are in and we start painting, or at least prepping to paint, today.

We also have security bars also came and are on. Yeah. Just in time.

The power company showed up yesterday unexpectedly. They replaced our counter, saying the one we has was put in by their grandfathers. But they also warned us that our wiring was not to standard on that main board (where all the electricity is distributed to the different buildings). I had known this and have a plan, but they have warned us that they’ll have someone out to deal with it within a week, sealing off a bit that some predecessor of mine messed with against code. We’ve been warned. Actually, it’s not a big deal to change, but we’ve got 20 people here working on other stuff!

Comments:
I definitely love the internet and the chance to keep connected with basically no lag time. Thanks for doing this, Tad.
