The Other Amazing DA Jr High Student
The junior high at Dakar Academy had a all-nighter, a "lock-in" with the theme of super-heroes. Everyone was to come dressed up as a super-hero. Unlike most middle schoolers, these guys are comfortable doing these kinds of fun things and don't worry too much about "what will people think."
Jonathan was Stupendous Man. You know him, right? I'll give you a hint. Calvin and Hobbs.
Jane spent some time sewing up the cape and mask after looking at a couple of comic compendiums we have for Calvin. It was a fun, creative exercise for mom and son.
Then of course we got him over there that Friday night and realized we had left the outfit sitting on the dining room table! Yes, we love our son. But fighting the rush-hour traffic for another 40 minutes home, 40 more back and then home again? Would I do that?
Your right. I didn't even hesitate. Though I did grumble way too much!!! But all that effort and anticipation of two of my loved ones couldn't be thwarted.

Oh, yes. And even without the help of the superhero cape, this middle school student isn't bad on the soccer field either!
