Selling and Buying
And where there is stuff in excess, there are garage sales!
When we moved from the Phare last summer, we had the opportunity to examine all the worldly goods we had amassed in the last few years. We decided that little girl and little boy toys, especially, weren't needed any more. Jonathan claimed rights to their sale and we pledged to participate in the next multi-family garage sale.
Yesterday was that day.
So Jonathan labeled the good stuff with prices and Jane spent a Saturday morning haggling with folks down in the courtyard of the New Tribes Mission headquarters across from the University. Quite a few toys sold, though not many of the other bits and pieces she took from our house and from the Carters'.
When I went back down to the sale mid-morning with Jonathan and a couple of his friends, he discovered that he now had money to burn. So he did.
Who could resist a monster-size Lego aircraft carrier??
And at the end of the day, Jane had a trunk full of treasurers that she wouldn't let Jonathan and I peek into. "Christmas," she said.
