Back in Ouakam!

I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've posted anything. These last months included a two-week visit at Christmas with family, gathering around Mom who is in the last stages of cancer. That was a bitter-sweet time, as you can imagine, lots of love and lots of sorrow. Mom continues to be mostly pain-free and when awake, lucid and at peace. My older sister, Connie, has been there in Pennsylvania since early in the fall and my younger sister, Laura, lives just up the street. Mom is in good hands.

I also spent an incredible week in North Africa leading a small group of pastors and elders in a course / extended spiritual exercise / guided group meditation... I really don't know what to call it. But we had the huge privilege of thinking together about the Good News and taking the time to examine our lives to see how we're actually thinking and living. It was a week long call to believe more deeply in God's love, to walk in faith and repentance, to be honest with God and ourselves about what really goes on in our heads! I started the week with great self-doubt and ended the week just thanking God for the joy of being part of what He was doing in these folks' lives.

Somehow we also squeezed in here finding and fixing up and moving in to a new apartment. We're back in Ouakam. In fact, we're back in the COMICO development. In fact, we're about 4 houses away from where we lived two years ago. Weird.

It was Jane that found us this nice place, with enough room and airy and inexpensive and within walking distance of the Phare and the Ouakam church where she does the talibe work. We'll be moving in for months, as we always do, but it's already wonderful. Here are a few clips showing the place.

Thank you for sharing your place. This connection via the internet is such a blessing. The best part was just being able to hear the voices of my dear friends. Love you bunches, Tad and Jane.
