Hobbes

We've had an addition to the household.

Hobbes, the cat.

Our colleagues, the Duttweilers, headed back to the US last Sunday. The day they were clearing out of their house, we got a late evening call asking for help "above and beyond." They were at the end and no one was expressing interest in taking their cat. What could I say? Jessica's cat needed a home!

So we have a youthful, energetic and very friendly tom with us. He's completely mesmorized by the birds that he hears and sees through the back window. So far he hasn't ripped the screen or broken his neck crashing into the window. But not for lack of trying! And he's generally well behaved, though we're going to have to learn to keep all dishes of food covered! And what was so attractive about that bag of protein powder that the Wheaton guys left? Or the potato chips? Perhaps we need some instructions from the Duttwielers!

Comments:
A CAT oh noooooo -well I hope he doesnt sleep on the stove like Jesse the Siamese that belonged to your in-laws. maybe Connie brought it home from college, I cant remember. But one morning after a family reunion in Milton -Aunt Bonnie went to put the gas under the tea kettle and of course the cat was there and thinking it was always there -Aunt Bonnie turned on the gas flame -the screech from the cat woke all of us up and the smell -Whew -we were laughing so hard and Aunt Bonnie said I though it was always there? why didnt it move?
So our Jane, if you decide to eat this cat -skin it first-burned hair smells awful.

Protein powder, interesting. Natalya's cat, Chouder that we had in the US before coming to Senegal LOVED miniature marshamallows, she would just go gaga over them. If you opened a fresh bag she would come running and try to take the bag from you. Amazing.
